blog 55 nature

There are a lot of things about nature that fascinate me.  I like nature and the outdoors a lot and like being out side as much as possible.  One of the things that probably fascinates me the most is how quickly weather can change.  Especially in Ohio, the weather is constantly changing.  It could be warm one day and snowing the next.  Yesterday it was around 50 degrees and people were out wearing shorts and short sleeves.  But then today it was 30 some degrees and people were bundled up and wearing gloves.  It amazes me how it can be that dramatic of a difference in temperature in only one day.  I remember last week when it was kind of warm out and I went to get food with some people from my dorm.  On the way there it was raining out and by the time we came out, it was snowing.  The weather had a major change in less than 30 minutes.  I also think tornados are pretty cool, besides all the damage they do and how people can sometimes die in them.  I have always wanted to see a tornado, but of course be far enough away that it wouldn’t affect me.  I think it’s hard to image a big tunnel like thing of wind that is able to destroy anything and everything in its path.  It can pick up cars and tear down sturdy things like houses.  I think that is pretty amazing.

blog 53 pet peeve

I actually have a lot of pet peeves.  Probably one of my biggest pet peeves is people who brag a lot.  I can’t stand people who constantly like to tell other people about all the stuff they have.  I remember back in high school, there was a guy that was pretty rich.  He always had nice clothes, had a nice car and liked to talk about these things all the time.  He would make sure everyone knew when he got something new.  He would brag about all the stuff he had and all the stuff his parents had.  After a while, that got pretty annoying.  Another pet peeve I have is when people chew gum really loud.  I can’t stand it when you are with someone and they are smacking their lips and being real loud while chewing it.  It makes it even worse in class when you are trying to listen or during a test.  When it’s all quiet like that, it makes the person who is chewing gum, seem even louder.  It seems like all you can focus on is that person and the sound they are making.  That happened to me one time during a test and it drove me crazy.  It also annoys me when shake their leg while sitting down and it causes the whole table to shake.  Other than that, I'm not really annoyed by much.

blog 52 vacation

I have gone on some vacations that I have really liked.  The one that I probably enjoyed most was when we went to Hawaii over the summer.  I had always wanted to go there and when my parents told me that we were actually going I got really excited.  We went for close to two weeks and visited some of the different islands over that time period.  It was weird how even though we were still in the United States, it seemed so different.  The lifestyle there is so much more laid back.  Everyone is easy going and are always having a good time.  We went and visited some volcanos and went to a place where there was an active lava flow that flowed out into the ocean.  But they had it roped off far away from where it actually was so you couldn’t really see anything besides the steam coming off from the water.  I also liked going to the really nice beaches and just being out in the warm weather all day.  Another vacation that I really liked is when my family went on a cruise in the Caribbean.   I liked how you’d go to one country, go to sleep and wake up the next day at a different one.  We got to do some pretty cool things while we were at the different places.  Hopefully I’ll be able to go on another cruise or go back to Hawaii someday.

blog 52 someone famous

I remember back in grade school, whenever we did writing exercises, this was usually always a question that was asked.  I'm not really sure what famous person I would want to meet.  There are lots of sports figures that I guess would be pretty cool to be able to say that you met them.  Brett Favre is one of the best quarterbacks, so that would be cool to be able to meet him.  I also like Michael Vick a lot so I’d like to meet him too.  He’s not like any other quarterback out there right now.  You never know what he is going to do each play.  But I think the coolest person to meet with would be Jesus.  If you did this, then you wouldn’t have to wonder if all the stuff that is said in the bible is true.  You would be able to ask him yourself.  Obviously no one around today has ever talked to him, so if I were able to do that, it’d be pretty cool.   I think it would be cool just to be able to meet anyone famous period.  Not many people can say that they have met someone famous, so for you to be able to say that would be special.  I think the closest I came to meeting someone famous was when I was here and went to Eddie George’s restaurant on high street.  Eddie George happened to be there and everyone was trying to get his autograph.  But other than that I've never met anyone famous.

blog 50 best present

I'm not sure if I can really pick the best present I've ever gotten.  There have been lots of presents that I've liked for different reasons.  Some where things that I've always wanted to get and others have a sentimental value to them.  I guess the biggest gift I ever got was when I turned 16 and my parents gave me their old car so I’d be able to drive.  Because of that, I was able to be more independent and not have to rely on them for rides.  I was able to go where I wanted whenever I wanted.  Another gift I really liked was a long time ago when I was starting to get into golf.  I enjoyed playing golf but since I didn’t have clubs of my own, I had to use my friends.  My grandpa heard about this and ended up getting me a nice set of clubs for Christmas.  I was really excited to finally be able to go out to the golf course and not have to borrow someone else’s clubs.  I think that gifts meant more when I was younger than they do now.  I remember when it got close to my birthday or Christmas, I would be making lists of all the stuff I wanted.  But now, it’s not as big of a deal.  I still love to get them but I'm not as worried about getting them as I was when I was little.

blog 49

Back when I was in high school during freshmen year, I was trying to find a place to work.  I applied at a bunch of place but none of them called me back.  I was already working on a farm as a farm hand but that was only every once in a while and I needed a job that paid more often.  My friend heard me talking about how I couldn’t find one and he told me how there was an opening at his job.  I ended up taking the job and I'm very glad I did, I even still work there.  This place is called Kings Miniature Golf.  It is the most laid back job you can get.  There are only a total of 3 people that work there, including me.  We split up working 5 hour shifts throughout the week.  The reason why I like this job so much is much is because of how laid back everything is.  This putt putt course looks pretty bad, the greens are all torn up, the structures are falling and it just all around doesn’t look that great.  But this doesn’t stop the parking lot from being full on Friday and Saturday nights in summer.  I get paid 9$ an hour in cash, no taxes.  Since my boss doesn’t really care about anything, I always have friends up there hanging out with me while I'm “working.”  We have a tv in the shack along with a fridge and a sound system.  So while I'm working I'm usually watching tv or listening to music.  Hopefully I’ll be working there again this summer.

blog 48 family member

I have one older sister named Susan who is 22 years old.  When she was little she was really big into tennis.  She would always go out and play with my dad on the weekends.  But for whatever reason, as she got older she stopped playing and started up something different.  I don’t remember how old she was but when she was probably in 4th or 5th grade, she went to a summer camp where they did horseback riding.  From then on she started to love it.  When she came back she immediately started trying to find places near us where she could continue to ride horse and learn more about the sport.  She ended up finding a place and did different types equestrian and started learning how to jump on them.  She ended up getting really good at it.  She did this up until the end of high school.  After that she went to Miami University and decided to try out for their equestrian team.  She made it and was on the team for all 4 years while she was in college.  She participated in lots of events and usually placed in the top 3.  She now lives in Philadelphia where she works for the FDIC.  She works for them as a bank examiner and is usually traveling to different states every other weekend.  She really enjoys what she is doing.

blog 47

I just finished typing up and editing my common place paper.  I think I did a pretty good job on it so I should get a decent grade.  I'm not sure if we have any other papers to write besides the final copies of the research paper and this one.  Hopefully not because then I will be able to focus on these and go to the writing center and see if they can help.  There is still a few more weeks till the end of the quarter so I wouldn’t be surprised if there was another paper that we still have to do.  As long as it’s not a real long one, I won’t really mind.  I think what I need most of all is my papers to be proof read.  But I heard the writing center doesn’t do that so I'm not sure what to do.  I still need to add more to my research paper.  I haven't done anything with that since we turned it in a while ago.  It’s starting to get real close to spring break so I'm getting pretty excited about that.  This quarter seemed to go by pretty fast.  I like quarters a lot and I'm not looking forward to switching to semesters later on.  I like how quarters end on the breaks and 10 weeks isn’t that long.  But at least there’s still another year or so to go before they switch.

blog 46

So today my roommates parents came and they decided to take us and a few other people from our dorm out to dinner tonight, which is where we just got back from.  It was nice to be able to eat something other than the normal food that I always get here on campus.  I am starting to get really tired of the food here.  Home cooked food sounds so good right now.  I didn’t think that I would miss it as much as I do.  I live on south campus so when we go somewhere to eat, we usually just go to the closest place.  This most of the time ends up being either market place to mirror lake.  The union is also close but I don’t really like they food they have there.  I've heard the Blackwell is really good but it costs so many swipes to eat there.  I think I’m going to run out of swipes before the end of the quarter so it probably wouldn’t be a good idea to go there and use up like 10.
Unfortunately I think all the really warm weather is gone for a while.  Tonight, it was pretty cold out and I think it’s supposed to stay in the 40’s for the rest of the coming week.  Someone said it’s supposed to rain a lot to which isn’t good.  I have a chemistry and sociology midterm Tuesday that I’ll be studying for tomorrow, so I’m not looking forward to that.

blog 45

I forgot I had to do a blog so I’m going to try to write this as fast as I can right now.  I don’t like how we have to write blogs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.  I wouldn’t mind blogs if we just had to do them Monday-Thursday.  But I always forget till late to do them on Friday and Saturday.  Probably because I’m not used to having things due on those nights.  Although the blogs have gotten easier to write over the past few weeks, I still wouldn’t say it is easy to get it to two hundred and fifty words.  Just like now, I can never think of what to write about.  I’d much rather have a prompt that tells us what to write about than being able to write about anything we want.  Like yesterday, today’s weather was awesome.  The sun was out and it was the perfect temperature.  There were lots of people out in the oval throwing football, freebies, baseballs, soccer balls, and just laying out and having a good time.  As the day went on it did get pretty windy out which made it a little colder but it was still a nice day over all.  One the way to class this afternoon a big fight broke out outside of Thompson.  There were crowds of people all around watching.  I wish I could have stayed and seen what all happened but I was already late for class.

blog 44

So for this blog we can write about anything we want to but since I don’t know what to write about ill just ramble on about random things.  Today was a really nice day.  I loved the weather today.  I wish it would stay this temperature for a while but knowing Ohio and its random weather, it will probably be back in the 20’s and 30’ by next week.  Spring is my favorite season and I can’t wait for it to be here.  I like it because after a long winter and freezing temperatures, you can’t wait for it to get warm out.  Tomorrow is Friday, which is great.  I’m not really sure what to talk about so I guess I’ll talk about my day?  Like I said before it was a nice day out.  I had three classes to go today and 2 of them had quizzes which sucked.  One of those classes was chemistry and luckily this is the last class of chemistry that I have to take for my major.  Im not a big fan of chemistry.  I hate the labs and the lectures are so long and boring. But instead of taking lots of chemistry class, I’ll be doing lots of math which is almost as bad.  So we’ll see how that goes.  My major is mechanical engineering.  I choose this major because my dad and my grandfather were both engineers and I liked the kind of stuff they talked about doing.

Blog 43: End steroid controversy, let the other 10% do it

End steroid controversy, let the other 10% do it
Want an easy way to gain over 60 lbs. of muscle and improve your game?  Just ask Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa or Roger Clemens, they know the secret.  The game today and the athletes are different than ever before; the players are faster and stronger, and the hits are harder.  It’s no longer good enough to just be good at a sport.  A receiver with “good hands” isn’t enough.  That receiver needs to be able to not only out run defenders but be able to shed tackles.  Athletes strive to be at the very top of their game, to potentially be the best that ever played.  Now this isn’t such a bad thing.  All the extra time that these athletes would have to put in to improve their game and the determination they have makes watching them play all the more enjoyable.  But this strong drive and determination can sometimes cloud their vision and they can take it too far.  They are willing to do anything to get that edge over their opponents and for some this means taking steroids.  Why spend hours and hours in the gym and get mediocre results when you can use some steroids, go to the gym half the amount of time and see way better results.  Unfortunately it seems that more and more athletes are taking this approach.  So many athletes are either being accused of using steroids or have come forth about using them.  We are in a tainted era in sports and something needs to be done to stop this from continuing.

blog 42

I think that my argument is relevant because of the large role sports play in all our lives.  We have all at least once been to a sporting event, watched one on TV, or played a sport.  Sports are all around us.  Companies pay millions of dollars just to put their commercials on during the super bowl because they know so many people watch them.  We are introduced to sports at early ages in gym class where we learned how to play them.  From those early years on past college there are opportunities to get involved in sports.  Although some of us may not like them as much as others, we all know about sports.  This is why I think it is such a relevant topic.  No one wants to see a world were sports become more about how big and strong you can get instead of how good you are at actually playing the game.  But with the trend in steroids now a days, this might not be too far away. By making my argument relevant, people will want to read my article more.  They will be able to relate to what I am saying and hopefully agree with it.  This might take some persuasion to make them see how it is relevant to them.  I don’t think it should be too hard to make people see why my argument is relevant though.

blog 41

Common place says that in order for an article to be compelling you have to have a clear purpose and use persuasion to carry that purpose throughout the paper.  They said that the most important thing to have is evidence.  Luckily for me, there is plenty of evidence surrounding steroid use in sports.  I could talk about the numerous baseball players that have been accused or have come forth concerning their steroids use.  In 2008, there were 52 pro bowlers who were being tied to steroid usage.  So there are plenty of places I can go to get evidence that steroid use is out of control.  This goes along with logos.  I will also have to use pathos which is emotion to try and make believe what I am saying and make it compelling.  I feel strongly that steroids should not be used in any sport and that there are much better and legal ways of improving at a certain sport.  Because of this I don’t think that it should be very had to incorporate emotion into my paper.  I'm not sure how I will use ethos, which is making yourself seem credible and like someone that everyone should listen to.  I don’t even know why everyone should listen and believe what I say so I’m not sure how I will incorporate that into my paper.  Hopefully by using logos and pathos, I will be able to make my paper compelling enough.

blog 40

For this blog we are supposed to talk about what makes our argument timely.  My argument is that sport officials need to be cracking down more on steroid use.  I feel that steroid use is pretty wide spread.  Lots of different athletes in different sports seem to be using them.  Sports are such a big part of American culture and society today.  There are numerous stations devoted to just sports 24 hours a day seven days a week.  In the past few years, steroids have become a major topic in the sport world.  With numerous athletes coming forward and confessing to using them and speculation over many others, this is a timely issue.  With all the advances in medical technology, steroids are getting harder and harder to detect.  This is not good news for the sports world.  It’s easy to see why athletes turn to steroids to help.  Take the NFL combine for example, which tests an athlete’s strength, agility and their skill, being a good quarterback or receiver isn’t enough.  The players are expected to be strong, fast and agile too.  All of these factors play into when a player gets drafted and by which team.  Steroids could help to improve all of these factors.  Steroids will continue to be a major issue in sports until something more is done to prevent their use.  Until then athletes will continue to get bigger and the integrity of the game will continue to go down.

blog 38

So after thinking about what to change my common place paper to, I came up with the idea to write about steroid use in sports.  This connects to my original paper because in that one I talk about the shortcut November uses to deal with her grief by having the memory erased.  Steroids in sports are also a short cut.  For this blog we are supposed to write about a personal anecdote, and since I haven't used steroids I guess I can write about what I have seen.
I remember watching the St. Louis Cardinals games back when I was younger.  Both my parents were from there so they were pretty big Cardinal fans.  So of course I began to like them too.  One of my favorite players was Mark McGwire.  Over the years it was easy to see the dramatic change in not only his appearance but also in his game.  When Mark McGwire first entered the league, he was about an average player with an average build.  Slowly over the years he began to get bigger and bigger.  Along with this, he got even better at baseball.  It’s clear now how he was able to get so big and improve his game so much; he cheated and used steroids.  There are numerous other players out there who put in the time and effort to be at the top of their game but not Mark McGwire.  He saw steroids as an easy way to get to the top quickly.  Players back in the day were able to break records without using a shortcut, and I think today players need to do the same.

blog 37

For this blog we are supposed to write about anything we like.  But I have no idea what to write about.  This will probably end up being a blog filled with a bunch of random ideas and whatever else comes to my head.  I'm pretty happy that tomorrow is Friday.  I love the weekend and of course like everyone else, I look forward to it every week.  After a long week of classes with quizzes and midterms, I can’t wait for this weekend.  I have one more midterm tomorrow but after that; I don’t have any more for a while.  I cannot wait till it starts to get warm out again.  I am tired of the cold and all this snow.  I wish it was 75 degrees and sunny out.  After a few months of winter I can’t wait for it to be hot again.  I want to move to a place that is always 75 degrees.  That would be a perfect place for me.  But unfortunately I don’t think there’s any place in the world that is close to that temperature year round.  I heard it’s supposed to warm up next week so I’m excited about it.  I just went on weather.com and it says that it is supposed to be 51 degrees this coming Thursday.  I still need 30 more words so I have to keep rambling on for a little longer.  If there are any Cleveland Cavalier fans out there, you guys are really good this year……. Setting NBA records game after game.  What is it at now? Like a 26 game losing streak..?

blog 36

For my paper, the best example I came up with in class that relates to my paper is lowering the drinking age in America.  I'm not sure if ill end up using this for my topic but since it’s the only idea I have now, I’ll write about it.
When we turn 18, we are considered adults.  We can join the military, buy cigarettes, sign up for credit cards and for most people it’s when they finally are on their own and go to college.  But even though at this age you are an adult, you still cannot drink.  America is one of the few countries that still have such a high drinking age.  Numerous other countries have the age set at a much more reasonable 18, such as Canada.  All these countries have the same or less alcohol related problems as those countries whose age to drink is 21.  A lot can be gained from lowering the drinking age to 18.  One example of this is how the government will get extra money through sales taxes due to the greater number of people now allowed to buy alcohol.  Also binge drinking wouldn’t occur as often since it will be more available for people to get and they will be able to drink it more freely.  The drinking age in America used to be 18 and I think it’s time we go back to that.

blog 35 Diversity or Discrimination?

The paper I read this time was called, “Diversity or Discrimination?”.  This paper was about all the different organizations, groups and services for minorities in colleges but how there are none for majority groups like Caucasians.  The author saw this as discrimination against the white population.  He brings up the Ohio State University and how they have an Office of Minority Affairs.  At this office, their goal is to help the minority groups succeed.  They give them lots of aid and help to make sure they graduate on time.  However there is no Office for Majority Affairs.  If schools are trying to be diverse by having all these programs and help for minorities, then why aren't there any for majority students.  Don’t the majority deserve the same opportunities and help that the minority students get?  I think the author brings up a lot of good points.  It does seem like minority students get a lot more than the Caucasian majority students do.  There are numerous ethnic groups on campus but according to the author, there aren’t any for Caucasians.  Don’t Caucasians deserve their own group as much as the other ethnic groups?  I agree with the author’s point that at colleges, there is less equality among the races.  I think this is timely article because you hear about equality and diversity all the time.  It’s all over the news and it’s an important subject.

Blog 34 "Its Our Illegal Right"

The article I read was called, “It’s Our Illegal Right” by Pembe Beingi.  The article was about illegally downloading music from the internet without paying for it.  The author’s argument was that there are so many other ways people get music for free that there is no need for these laws in the first place.  There are multiple programs that you can download for free that allow you to search through other peoples music libraries.  You are then able to pick out songs you want and download them.  It’s also just as easy to take music from a friend’s computer, put it on a flash drive and then copy that music back to your computer.  I’m sure there are other methods that I don’t even know about.  He talked about how the actual artist makes so little money off these songs that it doesn’t really even affect them.  Most of their wealth comes from endorsements and concerts.  I agree with the points this author is making.  He also made a point that I liked when he talked about how society might be moving faster than the record companies.  We’ve figured out how to get all these songs for free and they haven't figured out how to stop it.  Maybe they should spend more time trying to figure out how to stop this if they are that concerned.  I think that this article was timely and relevant because I’m sure almost everyone has illegally gotten music without paying for it.

Finally the paper is done with. It feels good to finally have it finished so I don’t have to worry about it anymore.  I feel I did a pretty good job of writing it and should receive a good grade on it.  I will have to go back and add a lot more to it though before I turn in the final draft.  I need to go to the writing center for help a lot that way I can get some extra credit points.  Since the final draft isn’t due for a long time I think I’ll have a hard time bringing myself to work on it anytime soon.  I'm also not sure how many other papers we have due between now and when the final draft of this one is due so I might have to spend most of my time working on those instead of this one.  I hope that this is the longest paper that we’ll have to write.  I don’t really like it when there are page requirements for a paper.  I think that you should be able to write as many pages as you want as long as you include everything that you need to.  Like for this paper I was easily able to write 5 pages but I'm still not sure how I’m going to lengthen it to 7.  I need to figure out what else I can add to get it to that page requirement.

This morning I was finally able to finish my paper.  I still need to edit it but at least all the writing is done.  I think I did a pretty good job on it.  When I read through it the first time it all flowed together pretty well.  I'm still not sure though how much detail I need to have about the background of Dollhouse and how it works.  I have a few sentences but I think I might need to add a few more.  I will eventually have to add a lot more to each paragraph since its only 5 pages.  It would also be helpful if I can find additional examples of how my topic relates to the real world.  That will probably be easier to make my paper longer that way than just trying to add more sentences to the paragraphs I already have.  I don’t know what else I would connect it to though or even what more I could add to the paragraphs I already have.  I could go to the writing center and see if they have any ideas.  I should go there next weekend and see.  The extra credit I would be getting by going would be helpful too.  I also need to figure out if the citation that EbscoHost has is correct.  If it is that would be really helpful since all I have to do is copy and paste it.

blog 31

I have slowly been making more progress on my paper.  I only have one to two more paragraphs to go.  So far it hasn’t been too hard to write since a lot of the previous blogs had to do with the paper and I am able to copy stuff straight from there.  Right now it’s only around 4-5 pages so I’m not sure how I’m going to stretch that to 7 pages.  I’ll probably have to go back and add a lot more to the paragraphs I already have.  Since the draft doesn’t have a page requirement I will probably wait till later to add more.  I should go to the writing center and get some help from them.  I’m not a big fan of writing though so that explains why it has taken me so long to write this paper.  I keep putting it off just like I do with my blogs.  I am even having trouble thinking of what to write for this blog.  I think that instead of having to write blogs this week, we should just focus on writing our paper.  But that’s just what I think.  One thing I'm not sure of regarding our paper is if there are a certain number of sources we need.  So far I've only used 2 scholarly sources.  I'm not sure if that’s fine or if I need to get more.  I'm not sure what else I could look up to add support in my paper though.  So hopefully there aren’t a certain number of sources that we have to have.

Today I meant to get at least half way done way with my paper but of course, that didn’t happen. I managed to write one more paragraph.  This brings me to the total of 3 paragraphs. I still have a lot more to go.  I plan on waking up early tomorrow morning and at least getting more than half way done.  Knowing me though, ill set my alarm for early in the morning and will keep hitting snooze till the middle of the afternoon.  I am not very good at waking up when my alarm goes off.  The snooze button is my best friend in the morning.  I keep hitting it till I realize that I have class in the next five minutes.  Then I realize that I should probably get up.  Since class is canceled all this week I have no motivation to get up early.  Even though I should spend this time writing the paper, it’s hard to bring myself to do so.  I hope that tomorrow I will be able to get up when my alarm first goes off and start to write my paper.  I doubt this will happen though.  I only have a few more paragraphs to go , yet I am still nowhere near 7 pages.  Tomorrow I am going to write about the connection between my thesis and the episode and the conclusion.  I also need to add more to the paragraphs I already have.

blog 29

So far I only have about two paragraphs for my paper done.  I started the intro and episode analysis.  I've been busy doing a lot of other stuff for other classes so I haven’t really gotten around to writing much of it.  I wanted to get more of it done today but I was busy studying for a chemistry midterm that got rescheduled for Thursday.  Hopefully tomorrow I’ll be able to knock out a big portion of it and go to the writing center for extra credit.  The outline I made really helped me because as I am write, I don’t really have to think about what I want to say next or where I want to go with the certain paragraph since it’s already written out for me.  I am having some trouble on the episode analysis.  I’m not sure how in-depth I have to go about the background information about Dollhouse.  I still think it’s going to be pretty hard to make this into a seven page paper.  I’ll probably have to add a lot more to the paragraphs in order to get it to that length.  The one thing I do like about the paper though is my topic.  I think that it should be easy to write about and easy to find information on.  I like the topic I have now better than the one I used to have.  The one on one meetings we had last week seemed to really help.

In an earlier blog, I talked about how people use alcohol to help with their grief.  They use this to try and make themselves feel better and forgot about what is bothering them.  But alcohol isn’t the only thing that people use when trying to mask their pain.  Another thing people do is turn to drugs.  According to the president for the Institute for Behavior and Health, prescription drugs are the most widely abused drugs out there.  “In 2008, over six million persons, or 2.5% of the U.S. population aged 12 and older, reported past 30-day use of prescription- type psychotherapeutic drugs for nonmedical purposes” (DuPont, 2).  Of course not all these people are using these drugs for dealing with their grief but the number is still staggering.  By taking these drugs, just like with the alcohol, the person is able to put the pain and grief behind them.  For a short period of time they are able to forget about it all.  But this is not an effective way to deal with grief.  Once it’s all over, they will have all the pain and grief back.  There are also lots of hazardous long term effects of prescription drug abuse.  Not to mention that it can be deadly.  There are lots of other, better ways of dealing with grief.  Talking to friends, talking to family or even seeing a therapist are all much better alternatives.
