blog 59 major

My major is mechanical engineering.  Since both my dad and grandpa were engineers, I grew up hearing them talk about it all the time.  After hearing them for years, I started to get interested in it.  I always knew I wanted to be an engineer so it wasn’t hard to me to decide once I came to college what I wanted to major in.  So far I have only taken one class that has to deal with my major. The rest were math classes, chemistry classes and some GEC’s.  Good thing my major only requires me to take two chemistry classes because I am horrible at chemistry.  I am so lost in that class right now but I only have one more quiz and a midterm and then I’ll be done with chemistry
forever.  My major also requires me to take a lot of math classes.  Slowly the math classes are getting harder and harder.  Somehow I need to get pretty good grades though because apparently it is
pretty hard to get into my major.  The advisor said they are very selective.  This kind of worries me.  If I don’t get in, I'm not sure what I will do.  I don’t know if it would be better to try and re-apply later or to switch majors.  If I tried to apply multiple times and I didn’t get in, I don’t even know what major I would switch to.  The only other one I can think of would be business.  Hopefully it won’t come to that though.

  1. I worried too because if something doesn't go right with your major then what you just took all your classes for nothing?
