In past episodes of Dollhouse, the main focus of the show was on the dolls missions. But for episode 6, they decided to take a different approach. In this episode they went further into depth of the other stories surrounding the Dollhouse. One of the main stories they focused on was FBI agent Paul Ballard’s. We learn a lot more about the information he has concerning the Dollhouse and what he is doing to stop it. Since the first episode, he has been trying to find Echo but has been unsuccessful. But he finally finds her in this episode when he breaks into a person’s house that he thinks is a client for the Dollhouse. When Paul sees her, he can’t believe his eyes. This whole time people have been telling him that she doesn’t exist and now he is face to face with her. He later comes face to face with her again when she tries to attack him at the Chinese restaurant. After the fight he is given valuable information from her saying how the Dollhouse is real and that he needs to back off for a while since the organization is so powerful. I don’t think he is going to be able to do this though. He’s spent so much time trying to find this place and convince people that its real and now that he knows it’s real, I don’t think he’ll be able to back off. I’m not really sure who implanted that speech into Echo’s head though. Did DeWitt do it in order to try and get Paul to back off? Or was it someone else? Overall it was a good episode.
